MEGT are a not for profit organisation who specialise in making apprenticeships and traineeships happen. Together with our valued client Warringah Council we are searching for enthusiastic candidates who would like the challenge of a traineeship.
This is a perfect opportunity for a recent school leaver to gain valuable on the job experience whilst gaining a formal qualification.
The Role
You will be working within one of Northern Beaches Council's highly regarded Long Day Care Centre's. As a Childcare Trainee you will be providing education and care for children from six weeks to six years of age. Your duties can include;
• Supervise and interact with children
• Check and change nappies
• Greet families and children when they arrive
• Host group time with song, stories or other activities
• Make or pack away beds for sleep time
• Serve lunch or help the children to eat their lunches
• Set out planned teacher based activities for the children to perform
• Ensure that the centre's strict cleaning regime is followed at all times.
• Interact and encourage children's play with one another and help guide them in their choices when needed

Requirements

• Strong work ethic
• Enthusiasm and lots of energy
• Experience working with children
• If successful you will need to obtain a Working With Children Check and Medical Check
• Must be able to commit to a 12 month traineeship
